Starting tomorrow, the Dutch National Lily Judging Championship kicks off again at the BolleNoord Agricultural Business Centre in 't Zand. This year, too, we are involved as a sub-sponsor of this wonderful event within the lily sector.
During the Dutch National Lily Judging Championship, participants evaluate various vases of lilies and attempt to predict the assessment of an expert jury as accurately as possible. The lilies are judged on criteria including: stem, leaf, flower, bud, and overall condition.
The championship consists of four competition days annually. In 2026, the competitions will take place on:
- Wednesday, May 20
- Wednesday, May 27
- Wednesday, June 3
- Wednesday, June 10
In addition to the regular ranking, there is also a top ranking, for which the best fifteen participants from the previous year are selected. On each competition day, prizes are awarded to the best participants in various categories, including seniors, juniors, and primary schools.
The Dutch National Lily Judging Championship aims to raise awareness of the lily profession and to get young people enthusiastic about the flower and bulb sector. An initiative that perfectly aligns with the importance of craftsmanship, development, and the future of the sector.
